My story

Let's be honest, neither of us are born runners ready for the heat and altitude of Lewa.

Susie: Tusk's Philanthropy Officer. Keen bean Lewa Safari Marathon chief cheerleader (from the sidelines) has finally decided she needs to put her money where her mouth is. Has completed one 10km race before - at a glacial pace - any distance beyond that it a total unknown.

Imo: Can usually be found behind a desk in Hammersmith talking about tutoring. Has been a Tusk supporter since childhood. Has never been to Africa, has never run a half marathon along dirt tracks, trying to avoid being a lion's lunch.

So WHY are we doing this? That is a very VERY good question. Thankfully, it has an easy answer:

Tusk partners with 75 projects across 26 countries across Africa
Tusk has invested over £130 million since founded, in direct conservation activity
Over 40 threatened species benefit from Tusk's projects
Tusk supports partners who cover more than 50 million hectares of wild ecosystems, including vital freshwater and coastal marine habitats
And more than 10million + people benefit from Tusk's work

So please give what you can to support our race. It might be only a half marathon, but known as being a mightily tough one. We will need all the support we can get. Can you help us smash our £5k goal?
